Claude Prevost is a Voting Shareholder and Vice President at Collins & Lacy. He serves as Chair of the Trucking Defense Practice Group. Claude’s focus is in the areas of: trucking defense; construction defect litigation; professional liability; premises liability; and catastrophic injury and death.
Claude is a cum laude graduate of Wofford College and received his Juris Doctor from the Charleston School of Law. During law school, Claude served as intern for The Honorable Sol Blatt, Jr. in Charleston. The following year, he served as an intern for The Honorable Bristow Marchant in Columbia. Claude performed 300 hours of pro bono work during law school prior to joining Collins & Lacy. He has been named a Rising Star by South Carolina Super Lawyers 2016-2022 for his work in construction litigation.
PRACTICE
Claude is the Chair for the Trucking Defense group, representing clients including motor carriers, owner-operators, shippers, freight forwarders, and brokers in litigation matters arising from commercial vehicle accidents and cargo claims.
Construction
Specifically within the construction industry, Claude defends professionals in litigation. Typical clients include: general contractors; subcontractors; developers; architects and engineers; manufacturers (defects); design professionals; and build-site injury and death.
Professional Liability
Claude also represents professionals in matters related to licensing and regulatory enforcement, including: architects; engineers; real estate agents; and lawyers.
Personal Injury Defense
Claude also defends retail, commercial, and restaurant clients in personal injury actions arising from “slip and fall” and “trip and fall” cases.
