Rob Forney serves as Special Counsel in the Retail & Hospitality Practice Group.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the College of William & Mary before obtaining his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law.

Prior to joining Collins & Lacy, Rob dedicated 10 years to the Richland County Public Defender’s Office, where he most recently served as Assistant Public Defender. Throughout his tenure, he played a key role in multiple specialized teams, including the Drug Team, Non-Violent Team, Violent Team, and Municipal Court Team. He also served as the lead representative of the Public Defender’s Office in Veterans’ Treatment Court, underscoring his commitment to justice and rehabilitation efforts.

Outside of work, Rob enjoys spending time with his wife, Emily, and their daughters, Abigail, and Charlotte.
